Important — early withdrawal penalty: If you withdraw funds for any reason other than buying your first home or retirement (age 60+), a 25% penalty applies to the full withdrawal amount — including the bonus. This means you could receive back less than you originally contributed. Only open a Lifetime ISA if you are confident you can commit funds until your qualifying event.

Important: These figures are for illustrative purposes only and do not constitute financial advice. The government bonus is based on current HMRC rules (25% on contributions up to £4,000/year) and may be subject to change. Investment growth figures assume a constant annual return and do not account for platform fees, fund charges, or tax changes. Actual returns will vary. The value of investments can go down as well as up — you could get back less than you invest. Withdrawals before age 60 for non-qualifying purposes incur a 25% penalty on the full withdrawal amount, which may result in receiving back less than your original contributions. Capital at risk. If you are unsure whether a Lifetime ISA is right for you, please seek advice from an FCA-authorised financial adviser.

Eligibility: You must be aged 18–39 (UK tax resident) to open a Lifetime ISA. Contributions can be made until age 50. The £4,000 annual contribution limit counts toward your overall £20,000 ISA allowance.
